"Shogun" e "The Bear" dominano le candidature agli Emmy

"The Bear" e "Shogun" dominano le nomination agli Emmy. Nonostante critiche relativamente tiepide rispetto alle prime due stagioni, la terza mandata di puntate di Fx sugli chef di Chicago ha conquistato ben 23 candidature, un record per una serie comica. Il primato precedente apparteneva a "30 Rock" con 22 candidature nel 2009. Mentre "Shogun" è arrivato in testa tra le serie drammatiche con ben 25 nomination. La cerimonia per la consegna dei premi 2024 si trerrà al Peacock Theater di Los Angeles il 15 settembre. 

  Appena dietro a "Shogun" e "The Bear" seguono "Only Murders in the Building" con 21 nomination e "True Detective: Night Country" con 19. Seguono "The Crown" a 18, "Ripley" a 13 e la rivelazione "Baby Reindeer" a 11. 

  Jeremy Allen White, la star di "The Bear", sarà in gara come miglior attore protagonista per il tormentato ruolo dello chef Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto, mentre Ayo Edebiri i con la parte della sous-chef Sydney Adamu si è aggiudicata una chance come migliore attrice. La serie, creata da Christopher Storer e che nel giudizio di molti non è affatto una serie comica, è candidata assieme a "Abbott Elementary", l'ultima stagione di "Curb Your Enthusiasm" con Larry David, "Hacks", "Palm Royale", "Reservation Dogs" e "What We Do in the Shadows": oltre alla nomination come miglior serie comica, ha offerto opportunità di statuette anche per la sceneggiatura, il casting, per le interpretazioni di Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce e Liza Colón-Zayas e per gli attori ospiti che hanno incluso stavolta Jon Bernthal, Bob Odenkirk, Will Poulter, Olivia Colman e Jamie Lee Curtis.

  Tra le serie drammatiche guida il gruppo "Shogun" di FX, ambientato nel Giappone feudale del 17esimo secolo e recitato quasi tutto in giapponese, con ben 25 candidature, un primato per questa edizione. Lo show ha di recente fatto uscire la sua terza stagione con un primato di audience: 5,4 milioni di spettatori worldwide. Gli altri candidati nella categoria sono "Fallout", "3 Body Problem", "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", il dramma in costume di Hbo "The Gilded Age", la serie britannica con Gary Oldman "Slow Horses", "The Morning Show" e l'ultima stagione di "The Crown". Per entrare in corsa agli Emmy i programmi televisivi devono essere usciti tra il primo giugno 2023 e il 31 maggio 2024. Le nomination sono arrivate solo sei mesi dopo l'ultima cerimonia rinviata l'anno scorso a causa dello sciopero di attori e sceneggiatori che l'estate scorsa aveva paralizzato tutte le attività di Hollywood.
